Ongaku Gatas - Ready! Kick Off! preview

After almost a year and half without a new single it seemed like Ongaku Gatas was just a dead group. Though they were added to M-Line and insisted they were still I group, I still thought they wouldn't release anything for a while. But sure enough Ongaku Gatas are back with their 3rd single, Ready! Kick Off!

At first listen the song isn't anything to get that excited over. The song is catchy and has a pretty decent chorus. I love the Hey joshi parts. But it's just not strong enough to be an a-side. It should just be one of those b-side that are great and could almost be an a-side but it's not quite good enough. Just like Come Togther's b-side Aisaretai Aisaretai. That song is great. but it's still not strong enough to be an a-side. But I'll probably end up liking this song after about a month or two. When I first heard Come Together I wasn't impressed with it. I actually hated it. But I heard it a few months ago and I've been addicted to it. So the same thing will probably happen with Ready! Kick Off! Since it's pretty catchy anway.
But still with yet another disappointing song they will most likely follow Abe Natsumi's release schedule and release a new single twice a year.
And of course the line distribution isn't really fair. Yossie and Rika are leading the song, KonKon and Mai are minor singers, and then everyone else. But I think I actually heard Noto Arisa get a solo line. But it could have been someone else. I'm not 100% familiar with the other Ongaku voices.
Come together was divided almost exactly the same way, except the 4 main singer got an even amount of lines. Would it really kill them to make another song like Narihajimeta Koi no Bell? I haven't heard the rest of the members since then. Not that I really care because I mostly listen to Ongaku Gatas for Konno. But still I'd be nice to hear the other girls. It seems like Buono and S/mileage are the only H!P groups with fair line distribution. And that's only because they have 3-4 members.

A graduation I don't care about

I stopped blogging the past couple days to fidget with some HTML on my blog. I needed to add a contact section to my blog, and voilĂ  I did. Since I'm terrible at HTML it ended up being very plain looking. I'll try to find a code to make it look snazzier at a later time, because believe it or not that code took me like 2 hours to do. I fail at life. XD This pointless blog update was just to tell you this post, and my next few ones are late news. But better late that never!

Hello!Project Eggs/Ongaku Gatas members Noto Arisa and Sawada Yuri will be graduating from Hello!Project Eggs to join Up-Front Eggs. However Noto Arisa will continue to be a member of Ongaku Gatas.

I guess Yuri and Arisa realized they were never going to be put in a group that's massively popular and gives them a chance to shine, so they decided to focus on being talents. Which doesn't really effect me in anyway. This is probably the first H!P graduation I don't care about what so ever. I don't even know who these girls are. I remember Arisa from the Gatas PVs, but I can't remember Yuri at all. Mostly because I don't really follow Ongaku Gatas. I like the group because KonKon's in it, and that's it. Here's seriously how Ongaku Gatas looks to me: KONKON!, Yossie, Risa, Hitomi, other girls who get the privilege to sing with KonKon. Which basically means, I could care less about the other members.

I wasn't really sad that Erika left, and yet I still hope for the best in her career. But Arisa and Yuri, not so much.

Gatas a dud

Ongaku Gatas's third single is being released September 10th. So of course the video for come together was released. Listening to the song I must admit I am less then impressed. The song is very boring and forgetful. I had to re listen to the song just to write my review cause I forgot what it sounded like. Nothing stands out. It sounds like every other Jpop song. There is one plus for the song, Kon Kon got three solo lines. Which isn't really a lot but it's certainly more than she got in Yattarouze. Perhaps if I knew what they were saying I'd like it more, but I kinda doubt that. I think Come Together should have been the B side because I like Aisaretai Aisaretai 100 times more. Even though it has a werid disco esque beat. I think it's catchy. But that's not really enough to make me a Gatas fan, maybe if they had more songs like Yattarouze. But H!P song doesn't always have to be happy, loud, and in your face to be a good song. But songs like that are the ones I like best. This is completely my opinion though. The quality of their songs and the videos makes me think they might have the lowest budget out of all the H!P groups. Which is kind of sad.
The video is following the song in the same plain sense. There is nothing spectacular about it. Their outfits are nice and Rika does look very pretty. But it looks more like it would be backstage footage from a concert than a video. The dance is pretty boring also. I feel weird not having anything positive to say about the video, but the song is kind of a disappointment to me. In the same respect there are probably more people out there that love the song then hate it.

But I never really liked the Gatas, so maybe I'm biased. But I do like Yattarouze, Narihajimeta Koi no Bell, and Kiss Shiyou by them. But I really only listen to Gatas once in a blue moon. The only reason I listen to their songs is for Konno Asami. When Gatas first single came out I didn't listen to their first single because I heard it was Yoshizawa Hitomi's new group. And I never really was a big fan of her. I kind of dislike her. I don't feel bad for saying that with all the hate there is against "other" H!P members.
